The Windsor/Essex County Sports Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025 will feature eight new members.

After helping the Windsor Lancers to multiple national track and field championships, Melissa Bishop-Nriagu, who still holds the Canadian record in the women’s 800 metres, and former teammate 400-metre hurdler Noelle Montcalm, who also competed in the 4×400-metre relay, will both go in together. Both went to compete for Canada at the Olympics Games.

As well, Jordan Steen, who represented Canada in wrestling at the Olympics, will also head to the hall of fame along with basketball guard Korissa Williams, who helped the Lancer women’s team capture five national women’s basketball titles in a row.
Rounding out the athletes in this year’s class is former world boxing champion Kara Ro while former NFLers Tyrone Crawford and Luke Willson, who won a Super Bowl in his rookie season, will officially be enshrined after the two were elected in 2024, but deferred induction until this year.
The WECSHOF will also add three new addition in the builders category. Andy Kiss spent more than a quarter century coaching high school basketball before moving over to join the St. Clair College Saints.
Football official Bruce Carter is also set to join the hall of fame along with Steve Bell, who is a former AM 800 sports director and longtime radio voice of the Windsor Spitfires.
As well, longtime football and track and field official Morgan Clark will be honoured as the Bob Turner Award winner for exceptional service in coaching and mentorship.
This year’s induction ceremony is set for Nov. 8 at the Ciociaro Club with tickets $100 each or $900 for a table. The evening’s program gets underway at 5 p.m. and tickets are available at Riverside Physiotherapy Clinic and Nantais Athletics Inc.
