Traveller dies after choking on food at Adelaide Airport despite frantic efforts by hero bystanders

A man has died after he reportedly choked on food at Adelaide Airport. 

Emergency services rushed to the airport’s main terminal about 9pm on Monday.

A bystander frantically tried to resuscitate the 50-year-old traveller by clearing his airways and using a defribillator. 

However, the man could not be saved and later died.  

Western District police will prepare a report for the coroner.

The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
