New drama explores what pressures drive teen boys to extremes

A school boy who’s accused of stabbing one of his fellow students sounds like a tragedy taken from real life, but it’s one of the questions at the heart of the new crime drama Adolescence.

The four part series, each episode filmed in one single continued shot, explores the issues faced by teenage boys – from their peers, to social media and the internet.

We’ve been speaking to the writer Jack Thorne and one of the stars, Erin Doherty.
