Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd made sure not to forget sharing a public message to his co-star ‘Mrs’ as she celebrated a very special occasion.
The actor, who is famed for playing Weatherfield’s very own David Platt, was marking co-star Julia Goulding’s 40th birthday on Thursday (March 27).
The actress, who is best known for playing Shona Platt in the ITV soap, was flooded with messages as she marked the special occasion – and revealed that her big day almost got off to a dramatic start.
Taking to her Instagram story, Julia shared a picture of a birthday cake covered in lit candles with a ’40’ and ‘Happy Birthday’ signs popped into the middle.
“40 candles… My mam nearly set the house on fire,” Julia wrote alongside the picture of what appeared to be a Victoria sponge cake sandwiched with fresh cream, alongside a crying laughing emoji.
Jack later took to his own Instagram Story to share his public birthday wishes. Alongside a picture of Julia in a car as a Halloween-inspired ghost popped up at the window beside her, the soap star wrote: “Happy Birthday Mrs Platt @julia_goulding.”

Taking to her own Instagram page, Georgia shared a number of photos of herself and Julia together, as well as alongside fellow Corrie stars Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby) and Sally Carman (Abi Webster).
Alongside the post, she wrote: “Happy big birthday to this absolute rock star @julia_goulding The best dressing room buddy I could ever wish for. Jooey, you light up my life every day.”
Julia was quick to respond, as she simply posted in the comments section: “Love you,” along with a red heart emoji. Georgis then gushed in response: “Bloody love you.”
Another of Julia’s Corrie co-stars, Cait Fitton, also took to her Instagram page to share her own tribute to the birthday girl. Alongside a selfie of the pair in Roy’s Rolls, the Lauren Bolton actress said: “Happy Birthday to this beautiful soul.”
Alongside a picture of Julia outside trying to keep dry on the precinct set, Cait continued: “Never a dull moment when @julia_goulding is around [face holding back tears and pink heart emojis]. The purest smile.”
